Snowy Morning

It's a virtual Monday for me as I was off yesterday to take my mother to a doctor's appointment. Yes, I am the poster child for the Sandwich Generation ...

I will begin with a few gripes:

I had called the doctor's office asking if what needed to be done couldn't be done by the MD who visits the nursing home where my mother lives. Oh, no! They told me, she must come in to see the specialist. Right. Ten minute consultation of nothing special with a specialist across town. Thanks for respecting my time.

Saturday I was at the AAA office in Burnsville because it showed Saturday hours on the website. Guess what? A piece of paper with "closed" written on it taped over the Saturday hours on the door.

It turns out that AAA is divided into a Minneapolis section and a Minnesota/Iowa section - if you put a St Paul zip code in to search the website for an office you won't get information on any offices over the river. I live three blocks from the river. I do not live close to Burnsville or Iowa.

That said, it's a snowy morning here in St Paul (Minneapolis too) and that makes me happy. I love snow. It's supposed to snow a few inches every other day this week so it will be pretty and white for days.

I'm about to finish my first glittens. Thankfully, Girl-child is very appreciative of hand-knit items and she will (hopefully) over look the imperfections of my design and find them useful. Boy-child gets the next pair.

I got the date balls started yesterday and so the baking is almost done. I noticed that in my previous post I got comments and e-mails on the cookies. Nobody seems to care about anything else. Maybe I'll check out the camera again and take more cookie pictures.

I also got my international drivers license yesterday. I am recognizable in the picture. That is the most I can ever hope for from a picture.

Oh, it's not that we don't love your knitting, but tastebuds speak louder than words!! (?)

btw, what a rotten deal - about the AAA I mean (not to mention the dr. situation). In this day and age there's no excuse for not having accurate hours posted on the Web. And what it is about this fair city that people overlook it? It's the best.
