Clouds

It was a good cloud day at Lake of the Isles today. My intention was to bike more this summer but I like walking around the lake too much.

More Everyday

I took a walk down Lake Street the other day. My goal was to read all the historical signs that I pass by when I walk around. Turns out there weren't very many of them on my route that day, but I did read all of the ones I passed (between my place and the Dairy Queen on 44th).

This spot has been languishing for a while. I hope something gets done with it eventually.  Or that it gets better graffiti.

And I've always loved these blocks.  I don't know what they're called, but I remember them from basements as a kid, and a fancy bathroom remodel I saw once at a home on Lake Minnetonka.

I took some cloud pictures at Lake of the Isles the other day.  I suppose I should join the Cloud Appreciation Society.

Today after work I went to the American Swedish Institute with Girl-child, DIL and the pseudo-grandkids.

Everyone had fun.

It's a great museum and there's a good exhibit on right now about guitars.

Finally, I spotted this woman with an unusual lunch bag whilst waiting for the train this morning.  I do love a person with a sick sense of humor :-D

Trying to Maintain Sanity

I'm definitely losing my mind.

It's all about the weather.

I thought I was made of stronger stuff, but apparently not.

I've taken to looking at this every day.

Found it on Jenny Lawson's blog, which I also look at every day.

Have to find a laugh somewhere.

This is what I found on The Bloggess today.

I laughed.

Global warming-schmarming.

We'll have to evolve into fish soon, or perish.

It's true, the sun tried to come out.

A couple of times.

In the past few months.

With little success.

Today there were waves in the bird bath:

It was dark as night at noon.

I signed up for a 20 week MOOC today.

Will it be enough motivation for me to live or will I expire of despair before it even starts?

Spring Clouds

At some point, maybe 3 years ago or so, Girl-child made me aware of clouds in a way I hadn't been before...now that the stormy weather of spring and summer are upon us, I am grateful for that awareness.

Clouds

We're getting ready to jet off to Portland, Oregon so I'm home doing this and that.

Nothing much to report, so here're a few clouds:

There should be interesting photos over the weekend.

Night Sky and A Special Note

There was a cool moon last night:
And a very cool bank of clouds visible after the Shadow show:
This note came in our mail bin at the library yesterday. The young woman it was directed to is already involved with someone, but you have to give the young man credit for creativity:
Boy-child thinks she should keep the guy's number on file just in case things don't work out with the current beau.

A Card, a Cake, Some Yarn and Clouds

My thanks to Rosemary for the card I received in the mail today.

Right. on. the. money:
Girl-child and a friend baked a pink cake today:
And speaking of pink, Boy-child's pink sock is coming along nicely. He chose orange for reinforcing thread which is added to the heels and toes:
I wound this wool/bamboo sock yarn just in case I might need something extra when I'm packing for Chicago:
And although I don't look up as often as I should, I try to remember to take a cloud picture now and then. This one was taken last night as we returned from a most enjoyable dinner:
