Holiday Knitting

I don't usually get pulled in to the holiday knitting thing, but this year I kind of did. Girl-child's birthday/Christmas sweater is almost done. Yes, I have to weave in the ends and sew on the buttons.

It's really a cherry red. Some of the detail photos give it an orange hue but that is not accurate at all.  Can't say I'm thrilled with the sweater but it's ok.

Next picture of it will show her wearing it.

I've also got a pair of popover mittens for her for Christmas. I made them on size zero needles. Don't think I'll do that again any time soon.

I leave for the cruise a week from Friday. Can't wait!  This year's knitting mojo has not been particularly good.  I'm hoping the cruise turns that around.

Well, if Girl-child is thrilled with the sweater, it will have fulfilled its destiny. And it looks great in the photos.

Agreed w/ Elizabeth: as long as Girl-Child likes the sweater (and wears it to death), it will be counted a success. I had to google popover mittens. Duh. They look great, and, having been knitted on zeros, they should be delightfully warm. You are officially a hero :-)

She likes the sweater - hooray!

Mittens on zero? She better NEVER lose them. As long as she is happy with the sweater, then it is perfect. Safe travels.
