It's been insufferably hot for about ten days, but tonight it rained, and cooled off about 20 degrees to a "delightfully" cool 80 degrees...
In the meantime, Boy-child's Back to School socks have been finished, a pair of mittens have been cast on for Auntie, and the harvest at the farm now includes cilantro, tomatoes and today the first zucchini...
And I almost forgot, the word of the week is vituperative: vi·tu·per·a·tive/vəˈt(y)o͞opəˌrātiv/

I like the white in the heels and toes -- must remember that. What pattern do you use for your socks? The blue and white heel seems to extend a long way underneath the foot. That could useful sometimes.
I use Hellen's Favorite Socks. I carry reinforcing thread across the heels until I'm done with the gusset decreases. I don't work in the ends of the extra threads; I just trim them a bit and leave them.
That's all, folks!
