State Fair 2014

Went to the fair tonight after work. We got to the Creative Activities and Fine Arts buildings, we ate some junk food, and then we managed to squeeze in the Seed Art in the seven minutes we had before the building closed for the night.

I'd just like to say that the presence of a moth in one of the cases at the Creative Activities building was kind of horrifying:

Girl-child found out about the seed art which was a lot of fun.

Not sure which one I like better - 50 Shades of Grain or Cowman Miranda.

It was The Girls and The Babies (DIL's nephew, 2-1/2 years old and niece, 4 months old) and myself.

It was a whirlwind visit but well worth it.  And it was cool!

Still Heat

Yesterday was one of those days of still, heavy, heat.

Once the clouds broke up the lake was like a mirror.

Not my favorite kind of weather in spite of the beautiful reflections.

Makes it look like downtown is right on the lake.

And then there was a sign that relief is just around the corner.

Stay-cation: St Paul

We had a slumber party at my place last weekend - Room Service (aka Bite Squad) dinner, movie, popcorn .... and then on Sunday morning we went to St Paul on the train for a low-stress day trip.

Girl-child claims it is not her fault that we ended up at the History Center before it opened.  Not sure why she was in charge of this since she has pulled this trick before ;-)

There was mini-golf at the Science Museum and some cool light stuff (where I was supposed to be mugging for a line-up shot, not smiling).

And we went back to the History Center to see the toy exhibit which was amazing.  Girl-child claims it was better having me there because I had commentary on so many of the toys.

We also saw a statue of our ancestor, Leif Erickson:

The Girls are so cute, aren't they?

They ran me ragged ... such a fun day!

Geo Guessr

Have some fun with the Geo Guessr.

Try to pinpoint on the map where you are.  You can move forward, turn, etc. to look for hints.

Good luck!
